Guess my Card

Family game that's free

What you need:

  • Your imagination!
  • Paper (cardstock flashcards work best, but you can fold or cut any paper)
  • Pens

Goal: Get the person holding the card to guess what the card says!

Instructions:

  1. Choose a few “categories” that all of the cards should fit within. Make sure it’s stuff your whole family knows about, and that they are vague enough that it’s not too easy to guess! (See ideas below)
  2. Each person should now write the category on one side of their cards.
  3. Then, write the answers on the other side of the cards. Make sure your group has enough cards, so it isn’t too obvious!
  4. If you have enough people, choose teams. Either way, choose a player, and have them randomly choose a card from the (shuffled) pile.
  5. Set a timer for one minute.
  6. Have the chosen player hold the card, answer side out, on their forehead so they can’t see it!
  7. At a given signal, start the timer and have your team describe the word, without using the word, to the player holding the card.
  8. If the chosen player guesses correctly, they win! And, so do you – for giving such good hints!
  9. If it’s just two players, you can skip points and just enjoy the fun! If three players, you can take turns with teams of two, and give points to the guesser and the one who gave hints, on each round.
