Frequently Asked Questions

Does this really work?

SFP has been tested for over 30 years in 14+ Randomized Control Trials and found effective for both high-risk and low-risk families by independent researchers in 30 countries. SFP meets all US federal standards for evidence-based prevention programs.

We teach skills for real life! Some of the skills you will learn include ways to:

  • Manage depression, stress and anxiety
  • Build self-confidence
  • Connect with your family
  • Understand your emotions
  • Intercept risky behaviors and situations
  • Create positive friendships
  • So much more!

You will be guided through a self-paced game that teaches real-life skills to bring your family closer together and help you find a more understanding approach to life skills, relationships and how you can directly impact your own life positively. Your family will be made even closer as you learn to better communicate, have fun, and work together as you navigate through life’s tough situations. If there was ever a guide to a happy family, this is it!

No, our program is ad-free.

Absolutely! We still encourage you to have your Family Meetings in person, all together — but you can always have them over video calling (like Zoom, Teams, Skype, Facetime, etc). It is important that you practice these skills together, however possible!

We highly recommend that you do one lesson per week (a total of ten weeks) and hold a Family Meeting using our Agenda at the end of each week.

However, we do understand that some families may want to learn at their own pace, so we do not restrict how quickly you learn.

We do however, highly encourage your family to work at the same pace as one-another, as the skills practiced are MUCH more effective if learned and practiced at the same time!

Absolutely!

We do our best to step you through the learning process, and we also offer the Family Activity forms, Tracking sheets and more as printable documents. If you are interested in a full set of the forms, please reach out: help@sfp-findinghome.com

This program is built to allow each family member to have their own experience. We ask reflective questions and you will all want the time to respond individually. The magic happens at the Family Meetings, where your responses come together in the Family Meeting Agenda.

If you really want to have the whole family learning together, we recommend you take the video series instead! Fortunately, is also available online!  Strengtheningfamiliesfoundation.org

How do I sign up my family?

We are currently still creating SFP Finding Home!

If you want to get on our contact list and be notified when we launch, you can find that here.

Want to get started today? Check out our video series, available now! Click Here

Yes. Each person in your family will have their own learning experience, and will need a separate login. Because of this, you will each need your own email for security reasons and for password recovery.

You can set up a free email account in many places, including:

We currently have a maximum of 12 members, but you can contact us if you need permission to increase that number!

While SFP Finding Home is currently made for children over the age of 11, you can still sign them up if you are able to assist them, or if your child is at an above-average reading age.

If not, the rest of the family can use the program and your younger children participate during Family Meetings, activities and tracking, family meals, games, and more! We do include some worksheets for younger children in our resources, and plan to add a younger track in the future!

No matter what, all of your children will benefit from the skills learned.

However, if you prefer something that includes younger children more easily, try our video series, also available online!  Strengtheningfamiliesfoundation.org/purchase-dvd/

One person deosn't have email, can I just sign them up using my email?

Sorry, no. You will each need a separate login. Because of this, you will each need your own email for security reasons and for password recovery. You can, of course, use your own additional email if needed for a family member without their own.

You can set up a free email account in many places, including:

Choose password recovery at sign-in and you will receive a password recovery option in your email.
